The warm-up that's a total-body workout!!

The Sun Salutations is a series of twelve Yoga postures that flow gently from one pose into the next.  Benefits are numerous as it enhances overall health, strength, flexibility, agility, balance, stamina and more. This simple routine is one of the most comprehensive series of mind-body programs that integrates three integral elements: movement, breath and mindfulness.

The Sun Salutations work the entire body.  It is a routine that we do in class, however, it also can be done along with other exercise regimes or alone as a whole-body workout.

Schedule

Everyone benefits in this three-hour workshop whether you've done this series before or you are an experienced practitioner of Yoga.  Through discussion and practical experience, you will learn:

  • Structural alignment of each position
  • Breathing mechanics
  • Benefits of each posture
  • Mediation in motion
  • Modifications of each position suitable for your body.

Once you know the routine, it's yours for life!

Yoga and meditation have been an integral part of Deborah’s lifestyle for more than 30 years. She is a certified Sivananda and FOYT (Federation of Ontario Yoga Teachers) teacher. She enjoys studying other Yoga styles which she integrates into her teaching practice.

While living in Fairfield, Iowa, a spiritual community of over 4,000 practicing spiritualists, she saw how individuals who were practicing yoga on a daily basis were "going through the motions" of the Sun Salutations. Knowing the profound benefits of this routine she initiated a series of workshops designed to reconnect these veteran yogis with this simple yet dynamic program.
